Naoum Shebib - The Entrepreneur
For nearly thirty years, Naoum Shebib ran his own firm, employing approximately fifteen people. At times, there would be a thousand people working on all of his construction sites. Naoum Shebib's integrity and competence as an architect, structural engineer and contractor were valued by his peers and the community at large.
Highly skilled as an entrepreneur, he made good use of his human skills and his technical expertise. In addition to his famous works — the Cairo Tower and first skyscrapers — he successfully directed several commercial and residential projects in various districts of Cairo (apartment buildings with 4 to 11 floors, commercial premises, office buildings, individual houses, factories, schools, churches, etc...).
At a time when work was performed manually, he managed to construct tall buildings and integrate reinforced concrete thin shells into many of his works. These accomplishments illustrate his technical expertise and his ability in terms of management and quality control.
